The PYXIS can film up to 6K Open Gate 3:2 video at 36 fps or 6K Anamorphic 6:5 video at 60 fps, among other selectable resolutions.

For heightened frame rates, employ center windowing to shoot up to 100 fps at 212 x 1184 Super 16. Other options encompass 6K Open Gate 3:2 at 36 fps, 4832 x 4032 anamorphic at 24 fps, and 1920 x 1080 at 120 fps, among various resolutions.

Dual-native ISO up to 25,600 minimizes grain and noise in your captures while preserving the sensor’s full dynamic range. ISO 400 suits on-set lighting configurations, whereas ISO 3200 proves ideal for dimly lit environments. Gain adjusts automatically as you manipulate ISO settings, ensuring intuitive control.

Customize Your Setup

The PYXIS features mounting threads on its side, enabling you to attach additional mounting plates and tailor your gear arrangement. The standard plate, which comes with the PYXIS, attaches via M4 threads and adds two 1/4″-20 threads and one 3/8″-16 thread to the camera for attaching microphones, articulating arms, or other accessories. An SSD plate provides two hook-and-loop straps for securing a USB-C drive or mobile device, allowing you to record or live stream directly on the move. Additionally, a Rosette plate is available separately for further expansion.

LCD Display and Onboard Controls

Monitor and review your footage on set using the integrated 4″ LCD touchscreen. With full HD resolution, it enables you to frame and focus without the need for an external unit. A maximum brightness of 1500 cd/m² ensures visibility even in bright sunlight. On-screen overlays display status and recording parameters, histograms, levels, frame guides, and 3D LUTS, among other tools.

Onboard controls make it easy to toggle functions such as ISO, white balance, and shutter settings. A scroll wheel allows for quick adjustments, while three customizable function buttons enable you to tailor your workflow to your liking. The controls can be locked to prevent accidental activation during shooting.

Post-Production File Formats of PYXIS 6K EF Mount

The PYXS utilizes Blackmagic RAW for recording, ensuring meticulous control over detail, exposure, and color grading during post-production. Additionally, it simultaneously records H.264 proxy files in real time, facilitating effortless sharing via the Blackmagic Cloud, Ethernet connection, or by linking 5G/4G mobile phones to the USB-C port for mobile connectivity. These media files are compatible with all operating systems.

Multiple Recording Options

Equipped with two integrated CFExpress Type-B card slots and a USB-C expansion port, the PYXS enables direct recording onto external flash media disks or SSDs.

Built-In SRT and RTMP Live Streaming

Effortlessly live stream from the PYXIS on set to a secondary location using SRT and RTMP protocols. Leading platforms such as YouTube, Facebook, and X can receive signals from the PYXIS for live event production. For internal sharing, utilize an ATEM Streaming Bridge for a wireless link back to the studio.

Extensive Connectivity Options

On the front panel of the PYXIS, you’ll find a USB-C port designed for the Blackmagic URSA Cine EVF, along with a mini 3-pin XLR analog audio input featuring +48V Phantom power for seamless microphone integration.

At the rear of the PYXIS, there’s a headphone monitoring jack and an additional 3.5mm microphone input. Utilize the USB-C port at the rear of the camera to connect to recording devices or for mobile data transmission. Additionally, a 12G-SDI output facilitates the integration of a secondary monitor. A Reference/Timecode input port ensures synchronization of your sources, while an RJ45 Ethernet connection allows for footage upload to the Blackmagic Cloud or camera control.

Power options for the PYXIS include the locking 2-pin DC power connector or the Sony BP-U battery plate.
