Most light fixtures throw a hard, direct beam on their own, and that's where these modifiers come in. Aputure's Light Dome and Light Dome SE wrap a Bowens-mount LED in soft, even light, while the bigger Light Dome 150 and Octadome 120 do the same on a larger scale for full body portraits or group shots. The Lantern Softbox and Lantern 90 go a step further and spread light in almost every direction at once, which works well for filling a room rather than lighting a single subject.
