Tailored for robust live event UHD 4K switching, this unit accommodates 10 individual 12G-SDI inputs compatible with 12G/3G/HD-SDI signals, feeding them to six 12G-SDI outputs or webcam USB-C output. Additionally, the switcher offers a Multiview output with up to 16 routable windows, showcasing inputs, keyed video, graphics, stills from the media pool, and the program output. The switcher incorporates a reference video input, and each input is equipped with a frame synchronizer, frame rate converter, and format converter. Users have full control over talkback, including program and engineering loops, sidetone control to monitor the headset microphone, and program mix. The media pool is equipped to hold graphics for use with the media players, with the 1 M/E model capable of storing 20 stills and 200 frame animations. Media management is simplified through the ATEM Software Control or direct downloading from Photoshop using the ATEM Photoshop plug-in.

Supporting UHD and HD video standards, including 720p, 1080i, 1080p, and 2160p formats, users can seamlessly switch between formats to suit their production requirements. These inputs also support embedded audio, allowing for audio mixing from the inputs. Additionally, program outputs incorporate talkback, tally, and camera control information, facilitating connection of switcher outputs back to the camera for program return, control, and talkback functionalities.
Fairlight Audio Mixer Integration
All SDI inputs on the Constellation UHD 4K are linked to a built-in Fairlight audio mixer equipped with a 6-band parametric EQ, compressor, limiter, noise gate, and expander. Audio is extracted from the SDI sources and routed to the internal mixer, supporting up to 156 input channels. The mixer further accommodates additional inputs for integrated analog sources or talkback microphones for voiceover capabilities. Audio control is managed through the ATEM Software Control or compatible Mackie panel.
ATEM Software Control Panel
Utilize the ATEM Software Control Panel to efficiently manage your Constellation unit via your personal computer. The software boasts a user-friendly switcher interface and parameter palettes for swift adjustments. Multiple users can connect to the switcher via Ethernet, enabling simultaneous collaboration on various aspects of your event. Moreover, the software grants access to camera control, audio mixing, media management, macro programming, and control of HyperDeck disk recorders. Users can save the switcher’s full state as XML files and back up media from the media pool. Compatible with macOS and Windows operating systems, the software ensures seamless control and operation.
