The Blackmagic Design Teranex AV is a professional standards converter designed for live events, AV installations, broadcast and post-production workflows. It provides 1,089 real-time up, down, cross and standards conversions for SD, HD, 2K and Ultra HD formats up to 2160p60.

Teranex AV combines professional 12G-SDI and quad-link SDI connectivity with HDMI and analog audio connections, making it suitable for integrating different video formats and equipment into professional production environments. It supports 10-bit processing and 4:2:2 video sampling for high-quality signal conversion.

The converter features low-latency processing with as little as two frames of latency for supported conversions, along with real-time noise reduction, cadence detection, scene-cut detection, color correction and proc amp controls. It also includes a built-in still store and freeze-frame function for presentations, branding and live production applications.

Teranex AV supports video standards from SD through Ultra HD 3840 x 2160 at up to 60 fps, with 12G-SDI connections automatically switching between supported formats. HDMI input and output, reference input and output, timecode support and Gigabit Ethernet provide additional flexibility for professional installations.

For audio workflows, the Teranex AV provides XLR analog and AES/EBU digital audio connections, as well as RCA stereo audio. It also supports Dolby AC-3 pass-through and Dolby E pass-through except during video frame-rate conversions.
